There’s something special about camping in Northern Michigan. Long summer days spent outside, evenings gathered around the fire, kids making new friends, and the kind of memories that bring families back year after year.
That’s exactly what we hope to create at Torch & Timber Campground.
A New Adventure for Our Family
On September 1, 2026, we took a leap of faith and became the proud owners of what is now Torch & Timber Campground in Mancelona, Michigan.
We’re Dylan and Ariel, and as a family, we’ve always dreamed of building something meaningful—something that brings people together and gives families a place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy time with one another.
Becoming campground owners is a new adventure for us, but in a lot of ways, it also feels like coming home.
Where It All Started
Our journey here has come full circle in a pretty special way.
Mitten Licken Donut Co. first began right here at the campground, where one small idea eventually grew into a donut shop of our own. Now, we have the opportunity to begin another chapter in the very place where that journey started.
We’re incredibly excited to see where this new adventure takes us.
Creating a Place for Families
At the heart of everything we do are our three kids. They’re our biggest motivation and a huge part of why creating a family-friendly campground means so much to us.
We want Torch & Timber to be a place where kids can be kids, families can spend time together, and everyone can enjoy the simple things that make camping so special.
Roasting marshmallows. Exploring all day. Sitting around the fire. Meeting your campground neighbors. Laughing until it gets dark. Starting traditions that your kids will remember for years.
Those are the moments we want Torch & Timber to be known for.

With RV sites, cozy cabin rentals, tent camping, family-friendly amenities, and plenty of outdoor adventures nearby, we’re excited to welcome all kinds of campers.
